About Us
The Institute of Voluntary Sector Management is the professional membership body for management practitioners working in the voluntary sector and those responsible for corporate social responsibilities within the Private Sector of the Nigerian economy. It also promises to provide the much needed platform for nurturing value-driven, young social entrepreneurs, creating volunteering and employment opportunities for the teeming youths and encouraging high net worth Nigerians to put structure to their giving, by setting up charitable foundations.

Our Mission
Our mission is to support management practitioners and their community and voluntary sector organizations, through leadership, training, capacity building, representation, standards-setting and education, and we champion and promote working in the community and voluntary sector as a career choice.

There is a wide range of ways and places you can volunteer: whether your interest is in helping Older people, disabled people, the environment and conservation, homeless people, prisoners’ support and welfare, community development and various self-help projects, Mentoring young people, Art and Culture, Hospital and health, emergency and disaster relief, political and civic engagement, etc., we are here to train, support and match you up with the appropriate body.

Do you work in management within the Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) with an NGO, a Civil Society Organisation, Charity arm of a Faith-based Organisation such as a Church or a Mosque or a grant-giving Foundation? Are you responsible for the management of your organisation’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes?
Do you have a commitment to professional development for your own gain, for the wider gain of the sector and, or indeed, for the benefit of society as a whole? Would you like your experience, skills and knowledge recognized, affirmed and validated by your peers? We aim to be an influential voice for practitioners within the voluntary and community sector and to be an expert policy lead on volunteerism, fundraising and wider giving.
Our policy team will work to deliver a strong representative voice on behalf of individual and organisational members that influences and effects change for the Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) professionals wherever it is needed.
